LOGIC GAME: put your gemora kup to work.

It occurred to me, at my workplace-holiday-party, that my coworkers are an extremely diverse team. In just the 50 foot radius of my desk, there are 7 Jews, 6 Orientals, 4 Italians, 2 Germans (possibly Austrian?), 2 Indians, 1 Brit, 1 Greek and 1 Texan—plus the few token white guys. Anyway, back to the party... if you could believe that even in New York in 2006 not everyone keeps kosher, you'll understand how bored and uncomfortable I was watching everyone stuff themselves on the lavish and treif buffet. As it turns out, people with their mouth full only want to talk to other people who's mouths are just asembarrassinglyy full. That and my reluctance to don the santa hat, left me pretty much out of the action. The good thing is I had a lot of time to people-gaze, so I put together this little game called,

"So you think you've got the chops for law school":

The task is to sort out which characteristics apply to which person. You might need a pencil for this. (This game is based 100% on the people I work with, unless you're one of those people and want to sue--in that case, the people below are completely fictional.)

Conditions:

There are 4 men and 4 women. 1 woman and 1 man are ballroom dancers (the woman is competitive and holds national titles). 1 woman and 1 man ran the marathon last year (they keep reminding everyone, as if only running the marathon could mean you have a life outside work). 2 people in this group have insanely long ponytails ponytails. 3 women and 2 men are Jewish (I’m including a woman who converted to Judaism, lived in Meah Shearim under Toldos Ahron, then abandoned Orthodoxy, and now sings Opera, but still goes by her Jewish name.) 1 man and 1 woman are Italian. 2 men practice martial arts. 2 women speak Russian. 1 man is gay.

Hints:

The ballroom dancer is not gay. A Russian speaker runs the marathon. A Jewish man has a ponytail, a Jewish women does not. The Italians do not fight and the dancers do not run.

Rules:

1 woman and 1 man have 3 characteristics. Everyone else has only 2.
