How I wish Judith Regan would not have been fired because of anti-semitism.

Really, do we have to take the blame for everything?

The NY Times quotes her lawyer: "They were looking for an excuse to fire her, and they fired her, and called it anti-Semitic." (link)

I consider this tactic anti-semitic. Suddenly the reason that Judith Regan is out of a job is not because she has been publicly obnoxious to many people over the years, not because she was recently involved in the repulsive OJ debacle, not because she has had been carrying on a public feud with the her (incidentally Jewish) superiors. No, it's because the ever vulnerable Jews felt slighted by her marginally offensive comments (made in personal communication, mind you).

This hypersensitivity is going to backfire. People have a very low tolerance for groups that cry "victim" too often. There is real anti-semitism in the world that poses a real threat to Jewish security. Judith Ragen is not one of them!
