Culturally appropriate this! Ta Shma - mp3
The latest Jewish rappers to come onto the scene: Ta Shma. This hip hop duo is made up of Chuna (Aron Silverman) and M.D. (white mike). Check out their myspace page and sample their music-- Speak Out made them famous, but Journey and Arise are also fine. Their bio's might sound familiar... think all-American white boys, lost youth, into hip-hop, meet chabad shliach, study chassidus, grow long beards, bring Torah- or chitas ;) into the recording studio, spread the holy word through hip-hop... Yeah, you've heard it before, but that doesn't make it any less interesting! Who would ever dream that hip-hop, of all genres, would be conducive to a Jewish message? Isn't hip-hop traditionally materialistic, womanizing, violent, and altogether antithetical to anything spiritual?!?! But I digress...Here is Ta Shma in an exclusive track off their upcoming, self-titled album COME LISTEN:
Ta Shma will be releasing their first album early summer 2006 with 12 Tribe Sound/ Jewish Music Group.
(I've taken down some previous mp3 posts because someone pointed out it might be considered illegal file sharing. In this case I've gotten permission to post this song, so enjoy the music. Oh, and post feedback too, while you're at it.)
